From 1999-2006 Darren LaSorte was a registered lobbyist for the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (State Liaison), working in various state capitols representing the interests of NRA members and other gun owners.
In 2006 Darren continued his work for the NRA Institute of Legislative Action as Manager of Hunting Policy, managing all NRA state and federal lobbyists with regard to lobbying hunting issues at the local, state and federal levels of government.
Before his work with NRA, he was Legislative Officer for the Arizona Supreme Court, representing the interests of the Arizona Judicial Department before the state legislature and executive branch of government. The lobbying work led to his current work with Ackerman McQueen.
Darren is a volunteer for the Honored American Veterans Afield and American Heart Association. Additionally, he volunteers as a children’s shooting and hunting safety instructor and women’s shooting coach. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Suppressor Association.
Darren enjoys the realization that the AM leadership is driven by the idea of maintaining the integrity of the company, and ensuring that it operates by the Golden Rule.
Darren earned his Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies and Political Science from Arizona State University.
