Prior to joining the agency, Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in Advertising and minored in Film & Media Studies. Additionally, she has been a life and arts reporter, news reporter and copy editor for the OU Daily; an Editorial Assistant at IonOklahoma Magazine; an intern and freelance writer for the Oklahoma Gazette; an intern and freelance writer for The Oklahoman; and a contributing writer for Oxford Karma.

Emily enjoyed writing creatively since she was a little kid. “The great thing about advertising is that it allows me to be creative, but it also gives me the structure that I often crave. I’m very competitive in nature and the world of advertising is a welcome challenge,” Emily says.

Emily was one of 75 students nationwide selected to participate in the Investigative Reporters and Editors' Campus Coverage Project. In 2010 she received the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Journalism Scholar Award and OU’s President’s Honor Roll. She also received the 2010 the Writer of the Year Award from Oklahoma Scholastic Media/Oklahoma Interscholastic Press Association (OSM/OIPA). Additionally, she earned the Marshall Gregory Award for Excellence in Year-Round Print News Coverage from the Oklahoma Education Association.
