Walt comes from a strong video production and photography background. Before coming to AM in 2014 as a videographer/editor on Chickasaw Nation, he was a videographer/editor at Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department’s weekly television program “Discover Oklahoma,” non-linear editing instructor at Oklahoma City University, photographer/editor for KFOR-TV in OKC, Director of Photography for Discovery Channel's “Michael Holigan's Your New House,” freelance photographer with clients including ABC, NBC, CBS, MTV, VH1, TLC, Discovery Channel, BBC (London) and RTL (Germany), and photographer/editor at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma and started off as a music major. He learned that Tower of Power and/or Chicago weren’t in need of additional trumpet players, so he changed his major to broadcasting to stay involved in music by working in radio. Somehow he ended up with a video camera in his hands and has been hooked ever since.

His skills and hard work led to numerous awards including; two Emmy nominations for outstanding general news and news feature, Alliance for Women in Media, Gracie® Award Winner, first place in spot news and feature television from the Society of Professional Journalists, first place in video editing and feature reporting from the Associated Press, and first place in spot news and feature-single from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, going to the gym, books, Thunder Basketball and he’s learning to play bass guitar.
